EYEPOP-3D is proud to announce that Andrew Murchie has joined the production of The Barn Part III as an Executive Producer, with EYEPOP-3D undertaking the stereoscopic 3D conversion of key sequences for the film’s upcoming release.

This exciting collaboration brings together indie horror filmmaking and hand-crafted 2D-to-3D conversion, delivering a horror experience designed to immerse audiences deeper into the terror of The Barn than ever before.

DON'T MISS OUT! You can still get onboard the Kickstarter, but do it quick we're down to the final 3 days!

EYEPOP-3D Bringing Stereoscopic Horror to Life

As part of the production, EYEPOP-3D will convert select scenes from The Barn Part III into high-quality stereoscopic 3D, enhancing:

  • Practical creature effects

  • Atmospheric lighting and fog environments

  • Jump scares and tension-building moments

  • Retro-inspired Halloween set pieces

Unlike automated AI conversions, EYEPOP-3D’s professional pipeline focuses on depth mapping precision, edge refinement, volumetric layering, and cinematic depth grading; hand-crafting each shot to get the maximum 3D bang for your buck!

The result is a natural, theatrical-quality 3D presentation designed to feel as though it was shot natively in stereo.

For horror fans, stereoscopic depth adds a powerful new dimension; literally. Foreground elements push into audience space, shadows stretch into layered darkness, and creature reveals gain startling spatial impact.

About The Barn Horror Franchise

The Barn series began with The Barn, a grassroots independent horror feature that tapped directly into the spirit of late-1970s and 1980s Halloween cinema. Built around a love of practical creature effects, synth-heavy scores, and old-school monster mayhem, the film quickly earned cult status among retro horror enthusiasts.

At the heart of the franchise is writer-director Justin M. Seaman, whose passion for vintage horror aesthetics shaped the tone and identity of the series. Seaman’s filmmaking style pays tribute to classic slasher energy while blending in comic-book-style monsters and drive-in creature-feature sensibilities. His emphasis on practical effects, physical costumes, and atmospheric lighting gives the films a tactile, nostalgic feel that resonates with fans of VHS-era horror.

Following the success of the original film, Seaman returned with The Barn Part II, expanding the mythology and increasing the scale of the Halloween-set chaos. The sequel brought back beloved characters while introducing new faces and escalating the supernatural threat, further cementing the franchise’s identity as a modern love letter to ’80s horror.

Now, The Barn Part III continues the saga, promising more supernatural chaos, creature carnage, and throwback horror energy while pushing the franchise into new technical territory with stereoscopic 3D enhancements.

Justin says: "I’ve always been a fan of 3D films. As a 80s horror kid I loved the idea when a film finally reached the pinnacle "PART 3" it might have that epic chance of receiving the third dimension behind the title- Friday the 13th 3-D, Jaws 3-D, Amityville 3-D. When we set out to make The Barn Part III we always had a goal to make the film as a 3D feature to not only continue the nostalgia the franchise is soaked in, but to enhance some of the awesome practical effects and kills that take place in this chapter."

Cast & Genre Appeal

One of the franchise’s strengths is its blend of emerging indie talent with genre veterans. The series has featured performances from:

  • Mitchell Musolino

  • Lexi Dripps

  • Cortland Woodard

  • Horror icon Linnea Quigley

  • Legendary actor Ari Lehman

By combining cult horror royalty with dedicated indie performers, The Barn franchise appeals to both hardcore horror collectors and new fans discovering practical-effects-driven monster films for the first time.

A Modern Cult Franchise with Retro DNA

Rooted in Halloween mythology, masked monsters, and nostalgic Americana, The Barn has grown from a passion project into a recognised indie horror brand. With The Barn Part III continuing the saga, the franchise remains firmly grounded in its original mission: delivering unapologetically fun, practical-effects horror with the spirit of a midnight movie experience.

Why 3D Is a Perfect Fit for Retro Horror

The Barn series has always celebrated practical effects and tactile filmmaking. By integrating selective stereoscopic 3D sequences, The Barn Part III amplifies that physicality:

  • Masks and monsters gain dimensional presence

  • Firelight and shadow achieve layered depth

  • Halloween environments feel immersive and atmospheric

EYEPOP-3D’s narrative centric approach prioritises cinematic realism -ensuring that depth enhances storytelling rather than distracting from it.

Justin says: "Long ago during our initial crowdfunding campaign we had dropped stretch goals, one being 3D conversion. I had a few backers reach out and suggest EYEPOP-3D. After doing a deep dive into the work of EYEPOP-3D and their phenomenal work, I reached out to Andrew and his team to discuss possibilities of working together on the project. After seeing what the team was able to do with some tests was INCREDIBLE, the special effects were great to start but seeing them in 3D is another experience! I’m proud to have EYEPOP-3D working on the 3D portions of this film as it is on a next level compared to the previous entries."

Expanding EYEPOP-3D’s Executive Production Footprint

Andrew Murchie’s Executive Producer role reflects a broader commitment to supporting independent genre cinema—not just through post-production innovation, but through creative collaboration at the production level.

This move marks a significant milestone for EYEPOP-3D:

  • Bridging film production and advanced stereoscopic finishing

  • Elevating indie horror with premium 3D craftsmanship

  • Bringing immersive cinema to collectors and genre enthusiasts

Andrew says: "It's such fun to work on such a well made indie horror, the production values are right up there with any modern horror film for sure. It's like a dream come true for me, seeing these crazy gory practical fx like you might have seen in classic zombie flicks - I think Tom Savini would be impressed!"

The Future of Independent Horror in 3D

As audiences rediscover the value of physical media, boutique horror releases, and premium viewing formats, The Barn Part III stands at the intersection of retro filmmaking and modern immersive presentation.

With executive production input from Andrew Murchie and bespoke stereoscopic sequences from EYEPOP-3D, this latest chapter in The Barn saga promises to be its most visually dynamic entry yet.

Stay tuned for further announcements regarding release formats, 3D exhibition details, and behind-the-scenes looks at the stereoscopic conversion process.
