EYEPOP-3D, of course: we've converted them all! How better to celebrate hitting the mid-year point than with another outing for the exceedingly creepy Dancing Pig (Le Cochon Danseur, 1907) - this completely new restoration and conversion is certainly hogging the spotlight! You can check out the new 3D conversion on our Spatial 3D Cinema YouTube Channel. So, apart from converting Dancing Pigs into 3D, what else have we been up to thus far in 2026...
As the film industry reaches the halfway point of 2026, one thing has become increasingly clear: premium immersive experiences continue to offer independent filmmakers new ways to monetise, market and future-proof their productions.
From boutique 3D Blu-ray releases and VR experiences to theatrical attractions demand for high-quality 3D content remains steady across multiple sectors of the entertainment industry.
At EYEPOP-3D, the first half of the year has seen progress in commercial 2D to 3D conversion projects, physical media releases and partnerships with filmmakers, distributors and immersive entertainment companies.
For film studios, producers and directors considering whether 3D conversion can add value to their own productions, the results so far this year demonstrate just how versatile modern stereoscopic conversion has become.

Commercial 3D Conversion Project Highlights
During the first half of the year, EYEPOP-3D completed several commercial stereoscopic conversion projects across feature film, immersive entertainment and virtual reality applications.
4DX-Style Ride Experience 2D to 3D Conversion

One of the first major projects completed this year involved the conversion of footage for a 4DX-style attraction experience in collaboration with an LA based production team. Sadly we can't share details or images from this project.
It should be noted that immersive attractions remain one of the fastest-growing markets for premium stereoscopic content. Theme park experiences, motion simulator rides and location-based entertainment increasingly rely on 3D imagery to create a heightened sense of scale, depth and realism.
For producers and rights holders, this demonstrates how existing filmed content can be repurposed into entirely new experiential formats that generate additional commercial opportunities beyond traditional distribution channels.
VR Experiences and Museum Installations

EYEPOP-3D also completed conversion work for filmed footage used within the award winning Trimontium Museum VR experiences.
Museums and educational attractions are rapidly embracing VR and stereoscopic storytelling as a way to engage modern audiences. By converting traditional 2D footage into immersive 3D presentations, cultural institutions can create far more engaging visitor experiences while preserving and enhancing historical material.
For documentary producers, archive rights holders and independent filmmakers, this opens the door to entirely new exhibition opportunities across virtual reality platforms and mixed-reality environments.
Feature Film 2D to 3D Conversion

Work has also been completed on converting key sequences for the forthcoming independent horror feature Barn Part III.

Genre cinema continues to be one of the strongest use cases for stereoscopic conversion, particularly within horror and science fiction. Carefully crafted depth enhancement can intensify atmosphere, improve environmental scale and create a more immersive viewing experience for audiences.
For independent productions competing within crowded streaming platforms, premium presentation formats such as 3D can help films stand out in both marketing campaigns and collector-focused physical media releases.
Director Justin M. Seaman says: "After doing a deep dive into the work of EYEPOP-3D and their phenomenal work, I reached out to Andrew and his team to discuss possibilities of working together on the project. After seeing what the team was able to do with some tests was INCREDIBLE, the special effects were great to start but seeing them in 3D is another experience! I’m proud to have EYEPOP-3D working on the 3D portions of this film as it is on a next level compared to the previous entries."
Launch of Spatial 3D Cinema for VR Headsets and AR Glasses

Another major development during the first half of 2026 has been the launch of the new Spatial 3D Cinema YouTube Channel by EYEPOP-3D. Since launch the roster of stereo 3D content has grown to include over 30 3D videos, 850+ subscribers and over 6,500 views. (This is in addition to our sister EYEPOP-3D YouTube channel used for general 3D distribution with over 11.5K subscribers & 5.5 Million views)
Designed specifically for the rapidly growing VR headset and AR glasses market, the channel delivers a library of immersive stereoscopic entertainment for devices such as the Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest 3.
The channel features full-length 3D feature films, classic 3D cartoons, exclusive 3D shorts, restored trailers and a growing catalogue of immersive content optimised for spatial viewing environments. As more consumers adopt wearable immersive technology, platforms such as Spatial 3D Cinema demonstrate how independent filmmakers and rights holders can reach entirely new audiences through premium stereoscopic presentation.
For studios and producers considering 2D to 3D conversion, the rise of spatial entertainment platforms represents an important new distribution opportunity that extends far beyond traditional television and cinema exhibition.
Recent Plan-D 3D Releases in 2026

Alongside commercial conversion work, 2026 has also seen several new stereoscopic releases from EYEPOP-3D's distribution label Plan-D, continuing the label’s commitment to preserving and reimagining cult and classic cinema in 3D.
New releases this year so far include:
The Hitch-Hiker (Inc. Ltd Red Case Edition)
The Old Dark House
The Giant Gila Monster (Inc. Ltd Orange Case Edition)
These titles highlight the continued appetite among collectors and genre fans for professionally converted stereoscopic editions of classic films.
Returning Catalogue Titles Continue to Perform

Plan-D has also continued to support its existing catalogue with reissues of several popular titles, including:
House on Haunted Hill
Horror Express
Carnival of Souls
Classic horror, science fiction and cult cinema remain particularly well suited to stereoscopic presentation due to their strong visual style, dramatic compositions and dedicated fan audiences.
For rights holders, catalogue conversion represents a significant opportunity to create new premium editions from existing assets without the cost of producing entirely new productions.
Upcoming Plan-D 3D Blu-ray Releases

The second half of 2026 is already shaping up to be equally ambitious, with several classic stereoscopic releases planned from Plan-D, including:
The Marx Brothers' Animal CrackersÂ
The Magic Sword
The Terror
Plus a new R3DUX edition of the original Night of the Living DeadÂ
These releases continue to demonstrate that there remains a passionate global audience for high-quality 3D physical media releases, particularly when paired with careful restoration and handcrafted stereoscopic conversion.
Why Independent Filmmakers & Rightsholders Should Consider 3D Conversion

For many studios and independent producers, 3D conversion is no longer simply a novelty format. It has become a practical way to extend the commercial lifecycle of a film.
Professional 2D to 3D conversion can help productions:
Create premium collector’s editions for Blu-ray market
Increase appeal for theatrical event screenings
Expand into VR and immersive exhibition formats
Differentiate streaming releases from competing titles
Generate additional publicity and press coverage
Repurpose archive and catalogue content for new audiences
Add value for international distribution sales
As immersive entertainment technologies continue to evolve, stereoscopic masters also help future-proof content for emerging display platforms including AR glasses, spatial video environments and next-generation 3D displays.
The Importance of Handcrafted 3D Conversion

Not all 3D conversion is equal.
At EYEPOP-3D, every project focuses on handcrafted depth design, scene-by-scene adjustment and cinematic stereoscopic composition designed to preserve the artistic intent of the original film.
For directors and cinematographers, this approach ensures that depth becomes part of the storytelling rather than a distraction from it.
Make sure your 3D stands out.
Looking Ahead to the Rest of 2026
With additional feature film projects, catalogue releases and immersive entertainment collaborations already underway, the second half of 2026 is expected to further demonstrate the growing commercial opportunities available through professional stereoscopic conversion.
For film studios, independent producers and directors looking to give their productions a new premium dimension, now is an ideal time to explore what modern 3D conversion can offer.
